Help us to bridge the digital divide

About IT ReUse

IT ReUse was set up in 2019 in response to the growing digital divide in York and surrounding areas. Its purpose is to donate digital devices to people in need so that everyone has access to technology to keep them connected, access essential services and keep in touch with loved ones.

We receive items donated by organisations and the public which are then securely wiped, refurbished and repaired by our team of staff and volunteers ready for redistribution. Trusted partners across the city then refer people to us for a device which they are invited to come to collect free of charge.

While the focus of the project is providing IT equipment, we also provide skill development and volunteering opportunities to the local community. All volunteers receive training from our staff team which supports them to learn new skills, grow in confidence and access new opportunities.

IT ReUse is one of Community Furniture Stores’ projects and runs out of our York store on James Street.
