Help us to bridge the digital divide

Donate Equipment

We are reliant on donations of equipment from individuals and corporates and welcome any of the following:

  • Simple/smart phones
  • Laptops
  • Desktop PCs
  • Tablets
  • Cables/chargers

If you’re donating a smartphone or tablet, please ensure that it’s been factory reset through the settings menu. If you’re unable to perform a factory reset for whatever reason, please sign out of your Apple ID or Google account – we can’t reuse your device if it’s still logged in! We can help you reset in our York store.

All devices donated to us are securely wiped using industry standard software, we can also provide certificates of data destruction for any device

 

How to donate

To donate a device to us, simply drop into one of our three stores in York, Scarborough or Selby.

Alternatively, you can drop off items at one of our donation points:

The Belfrey De Grey Rooms, St Leonard's Place, York YO1 7HB (Monday-Thursday 9-5pm and during church services on Sundays too.)

Selby Community House Community House, Portholme Rd, Selby YO8 4QQ (Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 5pm)

If you are an organisation wanting to donate devices to us, please email info@itreuse.org.uk to arrange delivery/collection.

Please note, if your device is too old or broken to reuse, it will be sent to our partner – TechBuyer – to be recycled. This is part of our commitment to sustainably disposing of IT equipment.

 

Business ITAD

We are looking for businesses that have quantities of IT equipment to dispose of.

 

We offer:

  • Free certified data destruction
  • We provide secure lockable transport per industry guidelines.
  • All hardware containing data is locked on-site until it’s processed.
     

Social good

The primary aim of the project is to reduce digital exclusion. Devices we receive are distributed throughout the local community to those who need them most. We also provide volunteering and training opportunities to individuals in the community. Many of our volunteers have disabilities or face hardships which prevent them from entering the workforce. We help people take their first steps into a career in IT.
